Every couple goes through working phases where the relationship can feel distant, many couples experience phases they feel may end the relationship. It is normal for couples to experience difficulties in a relationship, it is the role of the therapy process to setup a safe space for the couple to discuss what is happening without fear of judgement or unhelpful arguing.
I use principals from Imago and Emotion Focussed Therapy to attempt to build closeness where possible and have each person understand the other’s perspective.
